The Gualala Sangha is a Tibetan Buddhist sangha, founded in 2006 by Lama Yeshe Jinpa, his disciple, Michael Donnoe, and a group of very dedicated students. We follow the Gelugpa tradition of Tibetan Buddhism, as founded by Lama Tsong Khapa (1357-1419). Our sangha sponsors special Tibetan Buddhist workshops, group retreats, and teachings led by a visiting teachers in the Gualala and Sea Ranch area. Our workshops, classes, and retreats primarily cover the teachings of the Buddha as taught in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition.
Our practice at the Gualala Sangha is inspired by the practice of Shakyamuni Buddha, as transmitted through His Holiness the Dalai Lama. We hold our practice of spiritual friendship and sangha as that which continually inspires us. The words of HH the Dalai Lama truly capture what the essence of our sangha life is, when he said that "My religion is very simple. My religion is kindness."
May all beings have happiness and the causes of happiness. May all beings be free from suffering and the causes of suffering. May all beings never be separated from the happiness that is without suffering. May all beings abide in equanimity, free from both attachment and hatred.
